Rodgers, who sets the U.S. record for the marathon, is one of four members of the Greater Boston Track Club to finish in the top 10 of the men’s race. A Maine native and 21-year-old Bowdoin College senior, Benoit sets a course record with her time. She wins the race again in 1983* and wins the women’s marathon in the Olympics in 1984.*
